2. Applicability
By placing an order or requesting a quotation through our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
If you are a consumer within the meaning of Dutch law, mandatory consumer protection rules apply in addition to these terms where they provide greater protection.
If you are a business customer (B2B), prices are shown excluding VAT unless stated otherwise.
3. Products & Custom-Made Items
Many of our door systems are made to measure based on dimensions and specifications you provide.
You are responsible for providing accurate measurements, opening details, wall build-up information, and any other project data required for manufacturing.
Custom-made products cannot be returned or exchanged once production has commenced, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.
Verify all measurements before confirming your order. Request technical support if you are unsure about opening dimensions or installation requirements. Changes after production start may incur additional costs and lead time.
4. Prices, VAT & Payment
Consumer prices on the website include Dutch VAT (21%) unless explicitly stated otherwise.
For custom or project orders, we may require an advance payment before production begins. The applicable payment schedule will be confirmed in your order confirmation or quotation.
Until payment is received in full, ownership of delivered goods remains with VÉLUM Doors where permitted by law.
5. Delivery & Transport
Inspect your delivery immediately upon receipt. Note any visible transport damage on the carrier's delivery note where possible.
Report transport damage within 24 hours of delivery to contact@velumdoors.com with photos and your order number.
We will arrange inspection and, where applicable, replacement parts or repair in accordance with our Terms & Conditions.
Estimated delivery times are indicative and depend on product configuration, production capacity, and carrier schedules. Confirmed lead times will be communicated after order acceptance.
6. Assembly & Installation
Assembly instructions and installation manuals are provided with your order and available on the product page.
We strongly recommend professional installation by a qualified carpenter or installer.
VÉLUM Doors is not liable for damage resulting from incorrect assembly, modification, or installation not performed according to our instructions.
7. Right of Withdrawal
Consumers normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts under Dutch law.
Custom-made products manufactured to your specifications are exempt from the right of withdrawal. See our dedicated page on exceptions for full details.
Standard catalogue items not made to measure may qualify for withdrawal if unused and in original condition. Custom finishes, dimensions, or configurations exclude withdrawal rights.
8. Limitation of Liability
Our liability for direct damage arising from an attributable failure in the performance of our agreement is limited to the invoice amount of the relevant order, unless the damage results from intentional misconduct or gross negligence on our part.
We are not liable for indirect damage, consequential loss, installation errors by third parties, or incorrect measurements supplied by the customer.
Nothing in these terms limits liability where exclusion is not permitted by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Statutory product liability under Dutch law remains fully applicable.
9. Force Majeure
We are not obliged to fulfil any obligation if prevented from doing so by force majeure, including but not limited to supplier failure, transport disruption, strikes, fire, pandemic, or government measures.
If a force majeure situation lasts longer than 60 days, either party may terminate the affected order in writing.
10. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms & Conditions and all agreements with VÉLUM Doors B.V. are governed by Dutch law.
Disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in Amsterdam, unless mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.
